چکیده

For ranking alternatives based on pairwise comparisons, current analytic hierarchy process (AHP) methods are difficult to use to generate useful information to assist decision makers in specifying their preferences. This study proposes a novel method incorporating fuzzy preferences and range reduction techniques. Modified from the concept of data envelopment analysis (DEA), the proposed approach is not only capable of treating incomplete preference matrices but also provides reasonable ranges to help decision makers to rank decision alternatives confidently. 2007 Elsevier B.V. A new method for ordering triangular fuzzy numbers

Ranking fuzzy numbers plays a very important role in linguistic decision making and other fuzzy application systems. In spite of many ranking methods, no one can rank fuzzy numbers with human intuition consistently in all cases. Shortcoming are found in some of the convenient methods for ranking triangular fuzzy numbers such as the coefficient of variation (CV index), distance between fuzzy set...

Fuzzy Data Envelopment Analysis Approach for Ranking of Stocks with an Application to Tehran Stock Exchange

The main goal of this paper is to propose a new approach for efficiency measurement and ranking of stocks. Data envelopment analysis (DEA) is one of the popular and applicable techniques that can be used to reach this goal. However, there are always concerns about negative data and uncertainty in financial markets. Since the classical DEA models cannot deal with negative and imprecise values, i...

A feature ranking algorithm for problems with output of continuous range

This paper presents a feature ranking method adapted to fuzzy modelling with output from a continuous range. Existing feature selection/ranking techniques are mostly suitable for classification problems, where the range of the output is discrete. These techniques result in a ranking of the input feature (variables). Our approach exploits an arbitrary fuzzy clustering of the model output data. U...
